Honey bee swarms had moved in beneath the tiles. They needed to be removed quickly and humanely. Honey bee removal from any building in any situation needs to be done by fully trained and insured individuals. It has to be planned and risk assessed. These bees are now safely in isolation to ensure they don't carry any disease and will eventually be integrated into East Neuk Apiaries colonies. It is very important that after removals the correct protocols are in place for their welfare at all times.
