In the UK we do have a small amount of biting spiders, but all are less than what a BEE / WASP sting can do to you. However, we must be mindful of the Mental health and physical health of the population. Some people just cannot deal with them.
Generally speaking, they are harmless and will do no harm to you. They will in most cases be working for you in keeping down other insects that you do not want in the house.
